jihae's not particularly fond of suits, or the general air that comes with them. he feels so stiff wearing them, even to this day. with how often he's forced them, you'd think he'd get used to it, but no -- they feel as out of place on him as they did the first time he wore one.

and yet, here he is, fixing up his cufflinks in front of the mirror in his bathroom, weakly ignoring his brother's whining from the other side of the door. despite knowing his own appearance intimately thanks to constantly having to care about it, he can't seem to find himself in the reflection.

his brother's voice breaks him from his reverie, thankfully. "hyung!" jisoo calls, likely pressing his chest up against the door. "come out here!"

he rolls his eyes and, unannounced, turns and yanks the door open, confirming his suspicions when his younger brother stumbles into him. he can't help but laugh, the tension in the line of his shoulders dissipating, as he steadies him with his hands on his shoulders. "yes, child?"

jisoo, who is only two years younger, puffs up indignantly at the title. "i have a suggestion."

here we go again. "no."

jisoo's response is a whine. "you don't even like these things."

"no," jihae admits as he steps around him and into his room, "but i know how they work. you're too young for business stuff."

"haven't you been doing this since you were younger than me?"

jihae picks his phone off the nightstand and checks his messages. "the point is no, you're not going for me."

there are hands on top of his phone now. "can i go with you?"

he shoots jisoo a withering look and a sigh as he shifts back, holding his phone closer to his chest to protect it from grubby little brother hands. "stop it. when dad thinks you're ready, he'll say so himself." jisoo starts to make a noise of complaint again, but jihae cuts him off with a, "besides -- you don't have enough time to get ready. i have to go in, like, fifteen minutes."

jisoo's eyes narrow, which is not a good sign. "if i can get ready in fifteen minutes, can i go?"
